The Madness Has Begun

The 28 Contestants
In celebration of its 10th year anniversary, the makers of BBA decided to up the ante this time by doubling the number of its housemates. This signaled a break from the tradition. This time around, they are slated to spend 92 days in the house as against the usual 91 days. Welcome to a potpourri of idiosyncrasies, cultures and character traits! Soon, the conflicts began to unveil the personae of the housemates.

Take the Nigerian representatives, who looked as urbane and reserved. But, ironically, they are trailed by quite a social history here in Nigeria. Ada “Beverly” Osu, the female amongst the two, is in fact a model, actress, video vixen and emcee while Melvin Oduah, the male, is also an actor, model, and the first runner-up of the popular Gulder Ultimate Search Reality Show as well as the first runner-up in the Mr. Nigeria competition.

The Diary Room
The contestants have, one after the other, been summoned to the Diary Room. It is a place, where Big Brother personally interacts with them. The interesting character of this session turned out to be  Denzel. Denzel metaphorically turned dirt into diamond. After raising eyebrows and temperatures in the Diamonds House with his penis avatar, he took the work of art to the Diary Room to break it down in detail. The Ugandan, who has spent most of his stay in the House entertaining his fellow Housemates with silly antics, explained the penis avatar in detail. “It’s the male reproductive organ in its full glory,” he said.
According to him, it serves as a reminder that no matter how high you get in life, never forget the people you started off with, even if they are nuts.

All Hail BBA’s First Couple
It happened just three days into the game, much to our disappointment as we saw the tendencies right from the beginning. Sierra Leone’s Bolt and Ethiopia’s Betty succumbed to nature’s call by being the first to start a relationship in the House. With different goals set to be achieved should either of them win, we await what comes out of this frolicking.

The First Eviction
Denzel and Kenyan Huddah were the first to leave the Big Brother House with less votes than the others in the house.

Pokello Nare’s Alleged Sex Tape Leaks
Zimbabwean housemate Pokello Nare apparently had a dirty past that the rest of us are just finding out. According to reports from Zimbabwean media, Nare who is a socialite and businesswoman became very popular at home after her X-rated sex tape with urban grooves artiste Desmond “Stunner” Chideme went public. However, since she went into the BBA Season 8 House, the video which included pictures resurfaced and have gone viral with some viewers now calling for her eviction from the House. The sex tape was reportedly shot using Stunner’s iPhone and then converted into an Avi format. People believe Nare released the video herself because she was waving at the camera during the filming.
According to reports, Zimbabweans are quite upset that she was selected to represent them in the House.

Second Eviction
Sex, lies and conspiracy were the order for the second week of the Big Brother Africa Chase edition. But what put the icing on the cake was the untimely eviction of the housemates, Lk4 and Koketsto. Beverly nearly missed getting caught up in the triangle but was safely transferred to the Diamond House.

Nigerian Rep in Love Tangle
Nigeria’s representation revealed in the Diary Room recently that Bolt has been disrespectful towards his girlfriend, Betty and worse, he has been hitting on her.
“He’s trying to cause drama and I don’t want it. Bolt touched my legs and told me he will kiss me before he leaves the Big Brother House,” Beverly said. True colours coming out indeed

Third Eviction: Angola Bails
The two housemates from Angola, Biguesas and Neyll received the fewest viewer votes from the continent and were evicted from the House. They were evicted after Heads of House revealed their “save & replace”decisions. While Diamond Head of House, Melvin revealed he had saved Bolt and replaced him with Annabel, Ruby Head of House, Selly said she’d saved O’ Neal and replaced him with Neyll. O’ Neal’s eyes couldn’t have been wider when he heard the news.

Three New Housemates
Three new faces have joined the Big Brother Africa. Nigeria’s Tumi Morake, drama graduate, stand-up comic, MC, scriptwriter and speaker; Boity Thulo, model and actor from Potchefstroom, and Uganda-born David Kibuuka who is a finance graduate. The trio will help keep DStv viewers up to date with the latest happenings on the show, and keep track of the growing online frenzy.
